Our coverage of the Occupy Wall Street
movement has concluded. For all intents and purposes, the movement
ended on Nov. 15, 2011, when New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg used
riot police to clear Zuccotti Park. Mayors in other U.S. cities used
the same approach in running out protesters, including the action on Nov.
30 when 300 people were arrested while police shut down the Occupy Los
Angeles protest.
The bottom line is that the rich and
powerful have won. The protests did little to change America.
In Egypt, protesters were able to completely overthrow their government in
18 days. In the U.S., after two months of marches and speeches,
protesters couldn't even shut down the New York Stock Exchange.
The protest is over. The American
people have lost.
Stories on the Wall Street Protest
Remember when teachers,
public employees, Planned Parenthood, NPR and PBS crashed the
stock market, wiped out half of our 401k's, took trillions in
taxpayer funded bail outs, spilled oil in the Gulf of Mexico,
gave themselves billions in bonuses, and paid no taxes?
Yeah, me neither...Pass it on
